DOT Security Awareness Training |
This course discusses the requirements for hazardous materials transportation security as issued by the US Department of Transportation. These requirements were published in a rulemaking which is often refered to as HM-232. The security regulations are found in Title 49 of the Code of Federal Regulations Part 172.800.
The purpose of the Hazardous Materials Security regulations are to ensure that the security risks that are involved in the management of transporting hazardous materials are limited so that potential terrorist acts involving hazardous materials are reduced. As a result of increased security concerns in the United States, the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) released new rules, which took effect September 23, 2003, requiring security planning and training for certain types of businesses.
This training module is included as part of our other shipping and transportation training courses.
